“…and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)
Great is the Son of God who was born in a manger, who grew to fulfil His assignment. He came as a Saviour to mankind, the Word of God was manifested on earth as it was spoken by the prophets.
Jesus’s birth brought us new hope. This new hope brought us a gift, freedom from the chains of bondage through salvation. The greatest gift any of us can receive is salvation. God’s Word says that “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV). Grace Alone. Faith Alone. Grace alone means that God loves, forgives, and saves us not because of who we are or what we do, but because of the work of Christ. Thank You, Jesus.
Salvation allows us to experience immense joy. It frees us to love the people around us. When we taste and see that the Lord is good we want other people to have the same experience as us. We want them to experience the joy that we feel because we know Jesus as Lord, Saviour, Healer, Protector and Provider.
Let us remember that we are privileged to have received the most important gift of all and to experience all the benefits of that special gift. Let us remember not to keep our gift to ourselves. Many attribute this season to sharing, lights and joy. So let us share the Good News throughout this season, and help others to understand the Christ in Christmas. Let our inner light shine before others.
What greater joy is there than the joy that we gain in Christ Jesus?
Prayer
Father, we come to You today, thanking You for sending Your son so that we can have life eternally in You. Father, we rejoice in You and are grateful for Your grace. We pray even now that in this season men and women will come to accept the gift of salvation so they too can experience You in this most special way. We ask these things in Your precious name. Amen.
